The service from all staff across all areas is world-class - probably the most consistent and seamless service I’ve experienced in a hotel in all of my years of travel. From my very warm welcome at reception followed by multiple interactions organising a driver, transfers, flight cancellations and extended stay - to warm and friendly greetings in the hallways every day from housekeeping, and quick and thorough cleaning while I was out of the room at different times during the day - to the restaurant accommodating my numerous special requests - the service here is exactly what you’d hope for, especially when travelling as a solo female. The staff here actually care about your experience and are willing to go above and beyond. A big well done to the entire team and to their management / leadership teams - it’s going very right! I stayed 1 week in a prestige 1 bedroom suite with full kitchen stocked with cooking basics (pots pans etc), capsule coffee machine, free wi-fi, balcony with ocean-view, wall-mounted smart tv’s in both living and bedroom. The sofa feels a little plasticky but there’s a throw in the closet. NO USB or USBC ports in the room but plenty of power outlets throughout. They really nailed the lighting. Shower was large and water pressure was excellent. Bed was very comfortable. Gym had more equipment than most including dumbbells up to 50 pounds, lat pulldown and leg press so I managed to do my full body workout 3 days. Spa room is stunning - highly recommend watching the sun set from inside. The grounds esp the pool area right in front of the beach are serene and feel secure and exclusive. The swim-up bar wasn’t open but I saw guests ordering drinks from the restaurant and bringing them over to the pool area which seemed fine. Really appreciate the level of security with fencing all around the property and room card swipe access required from the beach and in the lifts. Stunning sunsets with plenty of secluded spots to enjoy from.

The hotel exceeded our expectations with its location, amenities and most importantly the staff. From the pool cleaner, and restaurant personnel to the housekeeping staff and the fantastic front desk staff always with a smile and a 'Bonjour'. They were all the most friendly and accommodating we have experienced in our world travels. Our family enjoyed a prestige two-bedroom unit that had modern decor detailed to a high standard and super clean. The room was oversized for a hotel and the kitchen was a great bonus. Views over the water from the two balconies watching the kite surfers and boats were mesmerising. Along with the most beautiful sunsets over the water, imaginable. The large beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were well-stocked with fluffy towels and the usual amenities you would expect from a 5-star hotel. Breakfast had a good selection of French pastries and hot choices plus fresh fruit and meats. A massage at the spa is a must if you stay and the choice will astound you! The hotel is located in a quiet area but a convenient stroll along the oceanfront to restaurants and retailers. We would recommend the Chateau Royal to any traveller.

A great place to stay in Noumea. Sea views are fantastic and the pool right near the beach is a bonus. The semi private beach has a shark net and life guards so it is a pleasant spot to swim in the ocean. There are many restaurants and shops within a 10 minute walk and if you are not a French speaker I would suggest trying to book as much as you can (in terms of activities and day trips) before you arrive as it is not so simple to organise on the ground. The staff at this hotel were fantastic and very helpful at all times. All in all this is a great hotel in a great location.

Mathew

Beautiful property with lovely gardens, great pool, bus stop out the front, access to a safe beach area with nets for sharks. The staff are really lovely and accommodated us with our noisy toddler very well. The restaurant was reasonably priced for the tourist area and the food was very good. Recommend adding breakfast daily as it’s much easier to eat at the hotel then explore the island. Rooms are well equipped with small kitchen so you can cook in if needed. We did with a small human some evenings.

Room with kitchenette facilities exactly as described... we were fortunate to get a room with a gorgeous view! Great service from the front of house team, who helped us organise airport transfers and other day trips.. and all round lovely group of people! Loved the seclusion... we initially booked the meridien but reviews on cleanliness and service levels put us off.. glad we made the decision to switch to Chateau. Highly recommend for famililes. We travelled in a group of 13 (4 families).
